This is painted on a piece of slate. You can find some pieces still at craft shops, I am not sure if Michael’s still carries them. If you can’t find the slate you could always paint a surface a very dark charcoal to mimic the background of the slate or better yet add texture and paint it dark. This is for the intermediate level painter and is painted with acrylic paint. I placed our address number on a slant so you could hang it outside your front door; just make sure to secure it so it doesn’t fall. Includes one enlargement picture.
