This is an panel that fits in an antique barn wood frame. It is the same sized panel as the Iris panel pattern. I like using different panels to change pictures around. I was inspired to paint this because we live near a river and there are a lot of marshes in our area. We get lots of Red Winged Black Birds nesting. The brightly colored ones are males like this guy. The female doesn't even look like the same bird. She is very dull colored in browns. When we moved to this area it made me recall growing and always hearing their distinctive cry ( the males mating call). This panel is painted in Jansen Traditional Art acrylics, and is for the intermediate painter. The color may vary with different printers. I saved this in full size for a nice clear picture.
